The Pinto division is where baseball all begins for Pony Baseball. Pinto is for players who are 8yrs old and under who want to have fun. The focus is on instructing the players in the fundamentals of baseball. This level is a combination of coach pitch and player pitch.
In the Pinto Division, we teach the children, coaches and parents the fundamentals of baseball along with the addition of the basics of pitching. We set a foundation for the players and coaches that will prepare them for the Mustang level of play. It is our goal not only to supply the kids, but the families with a great baseball experience. We incorporate rules at the Pinto level for kids who have never played before as well as the experienced 6-8 year old player.
The season consists of 18 games played on home fields with an emphasis on instruction of the fundamentals of the game of baseball.
The Mustang division is where real competitive level baseball all begins for Pony Baseball. Mustang is for 9-10 year old players who want to have fun.
In the Mustang Division, we begin to add more real baseball skills such as lead-offs. It is our goal not only to supply the kids, but the families with a great baseball experience while adding a bit more of the competitive aspects of the game of baseball.
The season consists of an 18-22 games regular season.
The Bronco division is for the 11 and 12 players looking to build on their baseball experience from the Mustang level. Leadoffs, the sacrifice bunt, and hit and run plays are all a part of the Bronco division. Players also get the chance to play on a larger diamond (70 ft bases) for that big league feel and pitch from 48ft. Coaches at this level refine the baseball skills and fundamentals of the players without losing site of the main objective - to have fun. The Bronco division is a part-time travel division that participates in the Southwest Canal League with Lockport, Homer Glen and Lemont Baseball. The season consists of 18-22 games played both at home and away with regular season standings, playoffs and both a league and conference Championship game.
The Pony division is for the 13 and 14 year old players interested in enjoying a season rich with baseball and healthy competition.
The Pony Division is fun and exciting and played the way baseball is meant to be played. This is real baseball. Leadoffs, stealing bases, bunting, hit and run plays, and pick-offs are just some of the nuances of the game at this level.
Teams will participate this year in league play in the Southwest Canal League with Lockport Boys Baseball and Homer Athletic Club and are considered Part-time travel.
The season will consist of 20 games. Ten of these games will be scheduled home games played at the Romeoville Recreation Center. The other ten games will be games played in neighboring communities. There are playoffs and league and conference Championship games.
The Colt division is for 15 and 16yr old players and does not conflict with the regular high school season. Regular season play begins after June 1st and concludes around the end of July. There is an end of the season tournament to determine an overall divisional champion.
Teams adhere to the NFHS baseball rules and participate in the Greater DuPage PONY Baseball Association. They are considered part-time travel. The season consists of 20 games. Ten of these games will be scheduled home games played at the Romeoville Recreation Center. The other ten games will be played in neighboring communities.
