Divisions

Pinto

The Pinto division is where baseball all begins for Pony Baseball. Pinto is for players who are 8yrs old and under who want to have fun. The focus is on instructing the players in the fundamentals of baseball. This level is a combination of coach pitch and player pitch. It is recommended that the player have at least one year of coach pitch baseball prior to playing. In the Pinto Division, we teach the children, coaches and parents the fundamentals of baseball along with the addition of the basics of pitching. We set a foundation for the players and coaches that will prepare them for the Mustang level of play. It is our goal not only to supply the kids, but the families with a great baseball experience. We incorporate rules at the Pinto level for kids who have never played before as well as the experienced 6-8 year old player. The season consists of 18 games played on home fields with an emphasis on instruction of the fundamentals of the game of baseball.

Mustang

The Mustang division is where real competitive level baseball all begins for Pony Baseball. Mustang is for 9-10 year old players who want to have fun. In the Mustang Division, we begin to add more real baseball skills such as lead-offs. It is our goal not only to supply the kids, but the families with a great baseball experience while adding a bit more of the competitive aspects of the game of baseball. The season consists of an 18-22 games regular season. If your looking for further competition for you mustang player we also provide a part-time travel experience. The team plays in the Chicago Sunday League mostly on Sundays. The team will play an addition 10 games on top of they're 18 to 22 in house games. Its a great experience.

Bronco

The Bronco division is for the 11 and 12 players looking to build on their baseball experience from the Mustang level. Leadoffs, the sacrifice bunt, and hit and run plays are all a part of the Bronco division. Players also get the chance to play on a larger diamond (70 ft bases) for that big league feel and pitch from 48ft. Coaches at this level refine the baseball skills and fundamentals of the players without losing site of the main objective - to have fun. The Bronco division is a part-time travel division that participates in the DuPage Crossroads league. The season consists of 18-22 games played both at home and away with regular season standings, playoffs and both a league and conference Championship game. Like the Mustang division we also offer a part-time travel opportunity as well in the Chicago Sunday League. They play 10 more games on top of they're 18-22 games with there in house team.

Pony

The Pony division is for the 13 and 14 year old players interested in enjoying a season rich with baseball and healthy competition. The Pony Division is fun and exciting and played the way baseball is meant to be played. This is real baseball. Leadoffs, stealing bases, bunting, hit and run plays, and pick-offs are just some of the nuances of the game at this level. Teams will participate this year in league play in the DuPage Crossroads division which plays in towns to the South and West of us. The season will consist of 30 games. 15 of these games will be scheduled home games played at the Romeoville Recreation Center. The other ten games will be games played in neighboring communities. There are playoffs and league and conference Championship games.

Colt

The Colt division is for 15 and 16yr old players and does not conflict with the regular high school season. Regular season play begins after June 1st and concludes around the end of July. There is an end of the season tournament to determine an overall divisional champion. Teams adhere to the NFHS baseball rules and participate in the SWILA League. They are considered part-time travel. The season consists of 20 games. Ten of these games will be scheduled home games played at the Romeoville Recreation Center. The other ten games will be played in neighboring communities.

Palomino

The Palomino division is for 17, 18 and 19yr old players and does not conflict with the regular high school season. Regular season play begins after June 1st and concludes around the end of July. There is an end of the season tournament to determine an overall divisional champion. Teams adhere to the NFHS baseball rules and participate in the SWILA Conference. They are considered part-time travel. The season consists of 20 games. Ten of these games will be scheduled home games played at the Romeoville Recreation Center. The other ten games will be games played in neighboring communities.
